Body Image: How people think and feel about their own body

Eating Disorders: Illnesses related to abnormal eating habits and distorted body image which can cause significant emotional and physical problems.

Anorexia Nervosa: Characterized by a distorted body image, with an unwarranted fear of being overweight.

Bulimia Nervosa: Includes frequent episodes of eating unusually large amounts of food and feeling a lack of control over these episodes. This binge eating is followed by behavior that attempts to compensate for overeating, such as forced vomiting, excessive utilization of laxatives or diuretics, excessive exercise, fasting, or any combination of these behaviors.

Binge Eating Disorder: Frequently consuming unusually large amounts of food in one sitting and feeling that eating behavior is out of control. People who binge eat, often eat 5,000 to 15,000 calories in one sitting.
